Virtually everyone knows that Propellerhead‘s Reason has been a proven, loved, and vital tool for music creation. Earthworks Drum Mics Deliver on Johnny Gill Tour

Johnny Gill, one of the lead vocalists for the R&B group New Edition, hit the road in support of his latest solo album, and veteran Front of House Engineer Rick Camp brought along a suite of Earthworks microphones for Melvin Baldwin’s drum set for the tour. The set up includes microphones from the Earthworks Sound Reinforcement and Drum Periscope series, which were selected for their accuracy and performance. “I really like the accuracy and full frequency range of the Earthworks drum mics,” explains Camp. “We are using SR30s for overheads, SR30/HCs for hi-hat and ride cymbal. Roswell is more Pro Audio, and a little Sci-Fi

They definitely played the humor into their logo, with the Flying Saucer R – but, Roswell Pro Audio is well, pro audio. Soyuz Announces their new SU-013 Small Diaphragm Condenser

Soyuz Microphones has announced the release of their new SU-013 small diaphragm condenser microphone. The SU-013 features an interchangeable capsule design, with available Cardioid, Hypercardioid, and Omni capsules. “The Soyuz Microphones SU-013AC Microphone features the same capsule as their SU-011 tube microphone but with a FET pre-amp. With more than a year of research and development, Soyuz worked very hard to develop their own proprietary transformer, which gives the SU-013AC a rich and beautiful sound. As with all their microphones, the SU-013AC is 100% handmade in the Soyuz facility in Russia” – aiming to make this a versatile mic for the studio.
