Dante Virtual Soundcard Vs. Focusrite RedNet PCIe and PCIe R – What’s the difference?

Focusrite RedNet is an increasingly popular network audio platform which establishes a network and transmits digital audio over Ethernet / Cat5e.  As a result, RedNet is finding homes in professional broadcast and recording facilities, sports stadiums and arenas, universities, and high-end home studios.   And the new “R” series of RedNet converters are adding Redundancy to the equation; meaning that where on the earlier, non-R RedNet interfaces you only have one Cat5e cable to rely on, the “R” interfaces have two RedNet ports transmitting the same data to help ensure against a loss of audio should a component in the chain of one stream becomes compromised. But today, the outside is giving itself a bath; something about a Hurricane Matthew.  I hate baths; mostly because I am not a graceful swimmer.  I sink.  Like a stone.  It sucks. So, I’ve resigned myself to curling up in my office in front of my warm box while contemplating why Matthew decided to give the outside a bath.

    Tower of Yamaha HS Monitors

Our Yamaha Regional Sales Manager, Mr. F., stopped by Front End Audio today. He happens to be a super cool guy who had lots of positive points to make. Mostly, on how kick ass our Yamaha monitor packages are for our customers! We provide everything you need in one awesome bundle to make life that much easier – at a smashing good price too!  The FEA monitor packages give you a pair of monitors, a base to set those monitors on (foam or stands), and the cables needed to plug them up.
